Assistant Professor Valerie Greer Publishes a Book on Age-Friendly Ecosystems

The School of Architecture is pleased to announce the publication of a book on Age-Friendly Ecosystems. Assistant Professor Valerie Greer in the College of Architecture + Planning and Dr. Linda Edelman in the College of Nursing co-edited the book.

The compact book examines age-friendliness within the framework of age-friendly ecosystems, and from a place-based approach, considering anchor institutions of neighborhoods, campuses, and health environments as sites uniquely positioned to catalyze age equity and inclusivity.

The authors thank the College of Architecture & Planning and the College of Nursing for the collaboration this made possible.

According to Professor Greer, “Writing this book engaged faculty in the Colleges of Nursing, Social Work, Architecture & Planning, and the School of Medicine with colleagues at the John A. Hartford Foundation, Lasell University, U Mass Boston, U Mass Amherst and the Gerontological Society of America. A special thanks to Dr. Keith Diaz Moore for writing the Foreward and supporting this project.”
