Dr. Ajla Akšamija gave a keynote presentation at the STEPGRAD 2024: Contemporary Theory and Practice in Construction XVI conference, organized by the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Banjaluka, Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 12. The presentation was titled “Innovations in Architecture, Research, Design and Technology”, and it discussed relationships between scientific research and design in the context of innovation, as well as advanced building technologies. Several Dr. Akšamija’s research projects were presented, including use of virtual and augmented reality for design, smart facade systems for generating heating/cooling and electricity, and regenerated buildings with improved performance.
