Zahra Hassanipour, AIA, NCARB is an architect and a partner at Studio Long Playing, and an Associate Instructor at the School of Architecture, University of Utah. She grew up in Tehran, Iran and received a Master of Science in Eco-Design from Politecnico di Torino, Italy and a Master of Architecture from University of Utah. Zahra has been involved in a variety of projects, including K-12, healthcare, civic and higher education. During her graduate studies at the University of Utah, she was the graphic designer for Dialectic III (The Journal of School of Architecture, published in 2015) and a research assistant for Archipedia Utah, a project of the Society of Architectural Historians. Her work has been recognized and awarded by different institutions such as the U.S. Department of Energy, Rocky Mountain Institute (Public Choice Award), University of Utah (CA+P design Excellence Award), Design Arts Utah (exhibitions in 2014 & 2015), and most recently she was awarded the Elizabeth Mitchell travel grant. She is an active member of Women in Architecture SLC and has been the Vice President since 2019.
