The University of Utah School of Architecture is pleased to announce that the World Health Organization has chosen one of the research articles of Dr. Timothy O. Adekunle, an Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies, to be featured within the World Health Organization (WHO) COVID-19 Research Database.
Dr. Adekunle’s journal article titled “Developing Resilience to Emergencies: Evaluation of Thermal Indices and Outdoor Comfort Before and During the COVID-19 Pandemic” is listed as one of the impactful experimental studies/ observational studies/ prognostic research on the COVID-19 pandemic and its effect on the built environment. The article was published in the Frontiers in Built Environment journal. The research examined thermal indices and outdoor comfort before and during the pandemic in three counties in Connecticut, United States. The investigation noted higher thermal indices during the pandemic than before the pandemic, which can affect thermal comfort of people, their health and the overall well-being.
